If you have played Bethesda games before you should already be in the habit of saving often.īethesda fully support modding their titles The GECK (Garden of Eden Creation Kit a community modding tool released by Bethesda themselves) release is just around the corner and we will hopefully start to see more in depth mods with changes with character scripting, custom quests and the like. I can make my own stories in the waste, I don't need an overly strong story to help me wander about. This is a post about modding and support for modding I don't want to see posts warning people away from modding, it won't break your game at the worst it can corrupt your save.

They already "linearized" their sandbox after Morrowind with more realistic physics in Oblivion, and it was a very sad day. I'll still play it to death I'm sure.Į: Gotta agree that more story would probably = more linearization as krimhorn stated. My biggest question is: Will it all still be pure wasteland? Or are we going to have some greenery? If it's only wasteland and ruined cities, that schtick might be a little tired at this point. Skyrim did make a pretty nice leap in interactive sandbox storytelling, so I suppose there is hope. Every Elder Scroll game improved on the last, but the characters and story are one thing that has hardly changed in any meaningful way.

Their team doesn't have those skills imo. Man, so many hours spent on those games.Īs much as I'm sure they would like to include such improvements, I don't think they could do it even if they wanted to. I'm sure I'll enjoy it either way since I adored FO3 before NV came out, but it'll be tinged with disappointment if they try to act like NV's improvements didn't happen. Here's hoping they take the mechanical and storytelling changes from FONV into account and we don't have to wait another couple years for Obsidian's improved crack at it.
